Talk: Searching New England Genealogy Records Online

Past event
Mar 2, 2019, 10:30 AM to 12 PM

The VT Genealogy LIbrary is hosting a talk about the millions of early New England records available at "American Ancestors" the website of the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston. This site provides vital records, census data and local town lists for most of the area as well as the baptism & marriage records of the Boston Catholic Diocese.

We'll also describe how this site allows every-name searches of the top genealogy journals for the U.S. (as well as those of CT, RI, MA, NY, VA and PA) plus access to the detailed personal sketches within The Great Migration Study & the Mayflower Descendants. If your New England research has hit a brick wall using FamilySearch & Ancestry maybe it is time to use the best single resource for New England - AmericanAncestors.org.

The class fee is $10, a handout will be provided and the fee includes all-day access to our 4500 books and subscription databases (AmericanAncestors, FindMyPast, Ancestry and more). For questions call 802-350-1333.
