Animal Tracking on Hogback with George Leoniak

Past event
Mar 2, 2019, 1 to 4 PM

Moose, deer, fisher, mink, otter, weasel, fox, coyote, mouse, vole, shrew, squirrel, owl, grouse - tracks of all these animals—and more!—have been seen up at Hogback in the last few years. The Hogback Mountain Conservation Association is pleased to co-host a Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center (BEEC) animal tracking workshop this coming Saturday afternoon, Mar 2, from 1-4 pm. BEEC has arranged for master tracker George Leoniak to lead a hike on Hogback to find and interpret animal and bird tracks. George can not only identify what animal left the tracks, but he can often read the story behind the tracks: Where was the animal coming from? Going to? Doing along the way?

This is the second of a three-part series that BEEC and George are offering this winter. Although the first session has already occurred, it's not too late to jump in for the last two. The cost is $20 per session for BEEC members and $25 for non-members. Please sign up in advance via the BEEC online registration page, because space is limited. Go to www.beec.org. You'll find a link to the tracking workshop right there on the home page.
