Green Mountain Fine Art Gallery is opening an exciting show entitled "Paint Vermont," on Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 4 to 6 PM. The show features work by Stowe artist LISA FORSTER BEACH and JOHN CLARKE OLSON. Artists' discussions at 5:00 PM. Refreshments will be served. The show runs through April 30.

Beach and Olson both love the landscape and beauty of Vermont; they are two of Vermont's finest landscape painters. They each seek to capture its uniqueness and seasonal changes through the skillful use of their very different media: watercolor and oil paint.

The subjects of Lisa Forster Beach's paintings are varied, ranging from the natural beauty of the Vermont landscape to architecture shaped by human usage. Strong compositions and the elegant interpretation of light are the hallmarks of her style. Literal representation is secondary to the character and impression of what is being translated by her brush and the unique characteristics of the watercolor medium.

Olson's paintings capture current scenic vernacular including New England buildings, farmlands, and distant mountains in a realistic yet impressionist style. Ninety percent of his paintings are accomplished with a palette knife, as opposed to a brush. This technique enables him to accentuate the architectural elements of the structures, and the varied textures of surrounding fields and mountains.

Green Mountain Fine Art Gallery is located at 64 South Main Street in Stowe. It is open every day, except Tuesday and Wednesday, from 11 am to 6 pm. See all the artwork of these featured artists plus the other 28 artists in the Gallery at www.greenmountainfineart.com 802.253.1818
