Please join us at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26 at the Ilsley Library Community Meeting Room for information and discussion regarding the effort to ban plastic bags and reduce plastic waste in Middlebury.
Article 12 of the Middlebury Town Meeting Warning asks:
"Shall the voters in the Town of Middlebury advise and encourage the Selectboard to enact an ordinance that no retail establishment shall provide a Single-Use Carry Out Plastic Bag, defined as a bag with a thickness of less than 4 mils, to a customer at the check stand, cash register, point of sale or other point of departure for the purpose of transporting food or merchandise out of the establishment?"
This question will be voted on in Middlebury on March 5. Join us next Tuesday evening and learn why reducing plastic waste is essential for our health and the environment.
