Swamp lot walk & talk - Saturday March 2

Join your neighbors for an informative walk to a place you've probably never been, but it's in your own backyard – the cedar swamp between South St. and Route 7. According to the town tax map, 40 different parcels make up the 270 acre swamp. A few of the parcels are owned by the Town. The parcel boundaries are confusing or non-existent. If you are one of the owners, you'll definitely want to join us for this interesting tromp through the woods. Hopefully the ground will still be frozen. Surveyor, Donald Johnston and landowner, Robert Rodgers will lead the walk and discussion about this unique natural area. A biologist/naturalist might join us too.

Meet and park at Charlie Roy's sugarhouse at 2493 South St. New Haven. The walk starts at 10:00 on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Hope to see you there. Dress appropriately for a fun and possibly wet walk. Sponsored by the New Haven Conservation Committee.
