On March 7 at 7 p.m., the Jericho Energy Task Force will host a presentation by Franklin-Grand Isle Forester Nancy Patch titled "Creating and Maintaining Resilient Forests in Vermont, Adapting Forests to Climate Change" at the Deborah Rawson Memorial Library. The talk, which will be followed by a question and answer session, will provide both a global and local perspective.
Raised in Enosburg, Patch has been the Franklin-Grand Isle County Forester since 2007. She has worked with groups like the Vermont Land Trust, Audubon Vermont, Vermont Coverts, and the Cold Hollow to Canada stewardship project.
"There is much we can do help our forests adapt to climate change and to minimize the degree of change that we will face," Patch said. "This presentation brings solutions and hope."
Light refreshments will be served but this will be a waste-free event so please bring your own plates and mugs. For more information contact enerjericho@gmail.com.
