Recently, many Huntington residents took part in a community conversation to identify priorities for the future of forest based outdoor recreation in Huntington. One of the key priorities coming out of that conversation was focused on assessing current trails in town, improving access and connection, and potentially creating new trails for a variety of trail users and activities.
To kick off this work, community volunteers are forming a Huntington Trails Committee and we hope others in town will get involved! The committee will have an initial meeting on Tuesday February 26th 7-8:30pm at the Huntington Library.
We would love to have you join us in this work! It doesn't matter if you're a trail building expert, walk/bike/run/ride miles of trails a day, or are new to the community and/or or outdoor recreation - we are looking for interested community members that want to come together and work towards improved access and trails in Huntington.
Please let me know by email if you would like to attend or feel free to just show up! If you can not make it but would like to be involved let me know and I'll add you to our email list.
