Bread & Bones, a trio of folk musicians will play at the Music Box in Craftsbury on Saturday, March 9 at 7:30 PM.

The trio includes Richard Ruane, a skillful player of guitar, banjo, mandolin and ukulele and a fine songwriter. Beth Duquette adds percussion, her lovely voice and brilliant harmonies. Mitch Barron keeps the beat going with his agile bass playing on upright and electric bass.bTheir music is warm, insightful, sometimes funny and always entertaining.

Their repertoire includes traditional folk songs, and Ruane's original songs which have good melodies, with heartfelt lyrics. They all harmonize well vocally, with the contrasting male/female vocals giving a special nuance.

Richard and Beth perform as a duo and, as the trio known at Bread & Bones which adds bass player Mitch Barron to the mix. Richard plays guitar, banjo, mandolin and ukulele and pens most of their repertoire. The duo just released their newest recording: Notch Road. The songs evoke the landscape of Vermont and have the tenor of old ballads but can also go into some quirky fun. Richard and Beth have had a long history of performing together and their voices harmonize seamlessly.
