The Peace & Justice Center and Volunteers for Peace are teaming up to raise money to build composting toilets in Haiti! It costs about $5 to give a household the education and resources they need to build their own composting toilet, which would effectively cut down of a host of public health issues related to the lack of toilets.
Tickets are $15, a traditional Haitian meal will be served, and Meg Brook, Executive Director of Volunteers for Peace will give a talk on their work in Haiti. All proceeds will be given to Macaya Coffee Cooperative in their initiative to educate about composting toilets in their community.
