GIGrow (Gravity Injection Growing System) is a Canadian company that has invented the future of farming. The company's founders and owners - Gilles and Guillaume Dumont – are in Essex to present their new technology in hopes that Vermont will become home to multiple vertical farming operations that use their technology to grow food.

They will give a talk on their business, their invention(s), the emerging vertical farming marketplace, and how investors and innovators in Vermont might partner to use this indoor growing system here. Here is how the company describes their unique technology:
"The patented GI Grow system is the only injection rotary garden that works by gravity. It allows to easily and efficiently growing indoors a wide variety of plants such as vegetables, herbs and flowers. It operates on the drop-by-drop principle without recirculation of liquids thus generating no waste of fertilizer. This principle makes it very environmentally green. Plants grow in soil and have the possibility to be organic indoor. It allows a great saving of water and fertilizer since it is injected directly at the plant roots. It therefore becomes an eco system, easy to use, making possible to grow the value-added vegetables all year around, free of pesticide, herbicide and fungicide."
This event is being held at Excelerate Essex, a co-working space now co-located with Earthlogic in Essex Junction (56 Main Street in Essex Junction at the Corner of Grove Street). GI Grow was identified and cultivated by the Vermont-Quebec Enterprise Initiative (VQEI) of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce (https://www.vermont.org/chamber/programs-affiliations/economic-development/vqei/) working with the Boston office of the Quebec Government. This gathering is co-sponsored by VQEI and Excelerate Essex.
