Are you ready, gals? However you feel about all that cupid and heart stuff on the 14th, you need to circle Wednesday February 13th on your calendar, and come to our second annual Galentine's Day party at Castleton Free Library. This is the day that Leslie Knope (aka Amy Poehler), the lead character on the TV sitcom Parks and Recreation, put on the calendar - "Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it...Ladies celebrating ladies." So come celebrate at 7:00 pm with your female friends (anyone who identifies as female, but honestly, we won't kick you out if you're a guy). You're encouraged to bring some favorite passages or poetry to read aloud - romantic or anti-romantic, to talk about favorite authors and movies, to eat waffles (that's a Leslie thing), to bring a treat to share (not required!). There WILL be chocolate. And just in case you've never seen Parks and Recreation, you can borrow the DVD's.
