Film Screening: Intelligent Lives

Film to be screened in Bennington challenges what it means to be intelligent.

What: On Feb. 19, INTELLIGENT LIVES, a documentary by award-winning filmmaker Dan Habib, has its Bennington premiere at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Following the screening, people with disabilities will facilitate a post-film discussion with the audience. The screening and discussion is free and open to the public.

Who: Adults and youth with disabilities, their families and supporters. INTELLIGENT LIVES, is a catalyst to transform the label of intellectual disability from a life sentence of isolation into a life of possibility for the most systematically segregated people in America.

When: Feb. 19, 1 p.m.-3 p.m. and 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

Where: Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 108 School St, Bennington, VT.

Why: INTELLIGENT LIVES challenges what it means to be intelligent, and points to a future in which people of all abilities can fully participate in higher education, meaningful employment, and intimate relationships.
