What if half of the Earth's surface was protected for the preservation of biodiversity? That's the visionary proposal by famed Harvard biologist E.O. Wilson. Half-Earth Vermont is a new group working to realize Wilson's vision.
On February 20th, join teachers, interested citizens and conservation professionals for a workshop that explores the latest research on biodiversity's role in healthy ecosystems, and help form a strategy to bring Half-Earth to life in the Winooski River Watershed – one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in Vermont, and one of the most fragile. The afternoon's speaker and featured guest will be Dennis Liu, PhD, Vice President for Education at the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation, and a longtime friend and collaborator with Dr. Wilson.
Don't miss the chance to get in on the ground floor of this exciting conservation effort.
The event will be held at North Branch Nature Center, Montpelier.
