Join New Century | New Voices and guest composer-curator Carlos Simon for Young Lions, a concert featuring daring music by dynamic composers of color. This program features varying views of the "American sound," ranging from Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson's deconstruction and adaptation of the blues for his solo violin piece "Blue/s Form" to Coree Dundee's ode to video game culture in "sb3." Jessie Montgomery's "Voodoo Dollz" explores the explosive power of a string quartet and the charisma of winding, soaring fiddle lines while Daniel Bernard Romaine encourages you to dance with the swaggering "Fast BLACK Dance Machine." Carlos Simon and series founder Matthew Evan Taylor will also be in attendance to meet all who attend.
