Mainstream construction often uses materials and processes that contribute large amounts of carbon to earth's atmosphere, but alternatives do exist. Join Shane Eazor to learn how building with straw, timber, and other natural materials can reduce or entirely offset a new home's carbon footprint. Shane works for New Frameworks, a worker-owned home-building cooperative in Vermont, and teaches the Natural Building Certificate at Yestermorrow Design/Build School. Stay afterwards to mingle with the Yestermorrow community and other sustainable design/build enthusiasts over treats from the YesterKitchen!
