More about the Makery: The Makery, a community maker space at Hannaford Career Center (HCC), invites you to our second annual Maker Faire. Guests will have opportunities to meet area makers and see what they make, as well as learn more about our vibrant maker space, which is available by monthly membership to any adult in our community. (Soon, The Makery will also be open to students ages 14-17 accompanied by an adult.)

The Makery opens HCC's woodworking lab, STEM and sewing workspaces to people interested in learning more about woodworking, 3-D printing, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), or sewing. Experienced mentors, trained in each area of specialization, staff The Makery every Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and are available to train members on equipment, help with projects, and answer questions. Members may drop-in to any or all of the labs. As community participation grows, The Makery hopes to open additional labs for machining, welding, and graphic design.

A collaboration between local entrepreneurs, HCC, Adult Education, the Ilsley Library, Middlebury College, and the Addison County Economic Development Corporation. The Makery is a volunteer effort designed to share skills, knowledge, and resources among members of our creative community. We believe a vibrant maker space is an investment in our local community, invigorating our Career Center, impacting our economic future, and enriching our individual skills. Also, from 4 - 8 pm a Repair fair will be offered by the Addison County Solid Waste Management District, made possible by volunteer fixers contributing their time and talents to help out their neighbors. Fixers will do their best to fix your item on the spot or point you in the right direction if your item can't get fixed then and there.
