Swanton Community Memorial Day Parade

Past event
May 27, 2019, 2:30 to 4:30 PM

Planning has begun for the Swanton Community Memorial Day Parade. The parade will be held on Monday May 27, 2019. The parade begins at the Swanton Elementary School parking lot on Grand Ave. The parade will proceed up Grand Ave, stopping at Memorial Park for Taps and the Wreath laying. The parade will continue up Grand Ave to the Lady Liberty statue where there will be Taps and Wreath laying at the Lady Liberty statue.

After the parade there will be a ceremony rededicating the WWII plaque to be placed at the Swanton Veterans Memorial Ace Hardware. The Swanton Fire Dept and Auxiliary will host a free meal for the community following the re-dedication.

We are looking for folks to join the parade. Dress up your bike, create a float, gather your friends, family and co-workers and march in your community's parade as we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice so we could have the liberties and freedoms we enjoy today. We are also looking for folks to help us set up for the re-dedication event.

If you are interested in joining this awesome community celebration please reach out to adam.paxman@gmail.com.
