Conservation Genetics: Genome Research Applications

Past event
Feb 8, 2019, 10 AM to 12 PM

Since the DNA helix structure was first reported in the 1950's, DNA mapping is now a widespread tool to help biologists understand how the unique gene structure ("genome") of each living organism interacts with its environment. So, a new field of research called "Conservation Genomics" was born in the 1980's and since proliferated worldwide.

This Friday, February 8 - Sarah Emel, PhD; Darwin Post-doctoral Fellow, UMass/Amherst
"Grassland Conservation Genomics, Applied to Plant/Animal Adaptive Ecology"Applications of Genomics.

There are 3 more lectures on Genomics which will take place at the Evening Star Grange, East-West Rd at Middle Rd, Dummerston Center.

TIME: 10am to Noon,
Lectures will include ample time for audience questions and discussion.

Suggested donation - $15 for individual lectures, $50 for the series.
