Red Cross Disaster Preparedness Classes for Kids

The Brown Public Library is hosting RED CROSS DISASTER PREPAREDNESS CLASSES FOR KIDS
Saturday, March 2nd
In the Community Room

"Pedro's Pals" will be held 11am-12pm (for children in grades K-2). Teaches children how to stay safe and prevent home fires. Children also learn the importance of having a family disaster plan, building an emergency supply kit, and finding safe places during a disaster.

"The Pillowcase Project" will be held 1-2:30pm (for children in grades 3-5). Teaches children to identify the best ways to stay safe during emergencies. Children also learn how to stay safe and prevent home fires and use coping skills to help manage stress during emergencies and in everyday situations. The program discusses the role science plays in emergency preparedness and teaches children to act as advocates for preparedness in their homes and communities.

*These classes are FREE and all materials will be provided. All participants must PRE-REGISTER. (Stop in at the Library or call 485-4621.)
