Spend your evening getting to know the Ekasala Sisters who have both committed themselves to their art for decades. Danielle as a baker and Terry as an abstract painting artist.

Danielle provides the community with the highest quality food available. Her priority is to purchase products from local vendors. She has had a long relationship with Butterworks Farm, King Arthur, and Cabot. Danielle purchases the freshest local eggs, hand picked local fruits and veggies (in season), as well as local honey.

Terry believes that abstract painting is an act of balancing the juxtaposition of color, line, texture, form... she tries to empty her mind. The observer in her can then take the wind out of the sails of contrived thought allowing the moments mysterious impulse to be seized as a child might do. The images are the consequential vibrational energy from the clashing of all this. She is often asked "Do they mean anything? No, just like a flower doesn't mean anything. "

Danielle Ekasala, Baker
Danielle channels 30 years of experience into artisan breads, baguette sandwiches, and pastries such as croissants, cinnamon rolls and fruit Danishes at Auntie Dee Dees in East Burke. Her goal is to deliver high quality, fresh baked goodies made with the best local ingredients, baking in her kitchen so you don't have to. I use Vermont products whenever possible.

Terry Ekasala, Artist
Terry was part of the Miami art scene in the 1980's. From 1987 to 2001, she lived in Paris, where her style moved from figurative to abstract. Terry now resides in East Burke with her family. She continues to work on large and small abstracts in what she calls a dream studio. Her art is recognized in internationally as well as locally. Currently, "Loud (Holler)" is displayed at Catamount Arts.

Menu:
Danielle will be serving the every popular Buddha bowl with a choice of sourdough breads. Followed up by her flourless chocolate torte and bread pudding for dessert.

What is a Buddha Bowl? A meal-sized bowl filled with a combination of grains, veggies, and other simple but high-quality ingredients intended to be enjoyed mindfully and with deep gratitude.

This is a BYOB event. Coffee, tea, and seltzer will be served.
