“Did the West Lose in Syria?”

Please join Norwich University's Peace and War Center on Monday, Feb. 4, in the Kreitzberg Library Todd Multipurpose Room at noon for a special presentation by Pierre Le Goff, Political Officer: Officer of the EU Representative for the West Bank, Gaza Strip and UNRWA.

Specializing on the Middle East and North Africa since 2007, Pierre Le Goff has held various positions on security and policy issues for the French government, French National Assembly and the European Union. He is currently deputy head of political section in the Office for the European Union Representative for West Bank, Gaza and UNRWA in Jerusalem. Previously to joining the European Union External Action Service, he served for four years under the authority of the French Prime Minister as head of Middle East and North Africa in the Secretariat General for Defence and National Security. Coordinating the actions of the military, security and diplomatic services, he worked extensively on terrorism (ISIS and al Qaïda) and crisis in the Middle East (Syria, Libya, Yemen). Since 2017, he is also a senior fellow in charge of MENA in the HEC Paris Centre for Geopolitics and a visiting professor at Sorbonne Abu Dhabi.
