REMINDER! The 36th Annual Colchester Winter Carnival is coming up this weekend! Entry bracelets are $7/person (ages 2 and under enter FREE), and can be purchased early at:
* Biben's Lakeshore ACE Hardware
* Burnham Memorial Library
* Colchester Parks & Recreation
* Dick Mazza's General Store
Pre-event bracelets are available until 1:00pm on Friday. After that, bracelets can be bought at the Winter Carnival Information Booths on Friday night or Saturday.
The Winter Carnival kicks off on Friday, February 1 with a community talent show – "Colchester's Got Talent!" – showcasing performances from participants ages 5 – adult. Three local judges will score the acts, and prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each category. This year's judges will be CSD Superintendent Amy Minor, Local 22/Local 44 Meteorologist and Reporter Torrance Gaucher, and current Miss Vermont Julia Crane. The show starts at 6:00pm in the Colchester High School Performing Arts Center. Winter Carnival bracelet required for entry.
Saturday, February 2 will feature many activities such as face painting, caricatures, inflatable obstacle course, henna tattoos, balloon animals, stilt walkers, pony rides, horse-drawn hay rides, fat bike demos, the Everest Climb N' Slide giant inflatable, a performance from Studio 3 Dance Company, and more! Local non-profits will also be selling concessions in the CHS Cafeteria.
On Sunday, February 3, the Colchester Police Department is sponsoring an Open Skate at Leddy Park in Burlington [11:20 AM - 12:40 PM]. Admission is free with a Winter Carnival bracelet. Skate rentals are available at the rink for $3 per pair.
All visitors must purchase a Winter Carnival bracelet for access to the various activities.
