Middlesex "Story Pot” — Come Take a Look!

What does Middlesex mean to our neighbors and children?

On Thursday, January 31, you can see the answer in person, when Middlesex's "Story Pot" is unveiled!

Conceived by Rumney Art Teacher Jen Campbell, the Middlesex Story Pot project allowed children and adults to participate in a creative community-building activity (leading up to the fall "What's Next Middlesex?" forum). Working on a 1 foot x 1 foot clay cylinder, students were invited to tell their "story" of Middlesex by creating small sculptures representing what Middlesex means to them, and attaching them to the pot. The pot then travelled to the "Middlesex Makers and Creators" event at Camp Meade, where adults added to it.

Now glazed and fired, the resulting creative, fun and whimsical pot will be unveiled and officially presented to the Middlesex community on Jan. 31. In the future, the Middlesex Story Pot will be displayed in Town Hall, Rumney School, and at various town events.
