Past event
Feb 21, 2019, 6 to 8 PM

Treat your ears to the sounds of local musicians at the Hardwick Street Cafe while savoring tantalizing dishes inspired by food-makers from across the Northeast Kingdom.
Howie Cantor has been writing songs for over 40 years. His folk music tells stories which celebrate the joys in the moments of everyday life. Also included in the set list might be a tale of Jesus Christ being sent to Guantanamo Bay as an illegal immigrant, or a lizard from Puerto Rico executing a daring attack on a president with his comrade the dove. Howie has performed at many venues in Vermont, as well as New York City, Boston, Puerto Rico, Philadelphia, and The Bonnaroo Music Festival.
Howie also plays bass guitar in The Can Am Jazz Band, Monte Verde Brass Band, and The Bread and Puppet Circus Band.
He lives in West Glover Vermont where he owns and operates Deep Mountain Maple with his wife Stephan Cantor. They have been producing maple syrup and fine maple candies, selling their products at The Greenmarket Farmers Market in New York City, every week, since 1985.
No cover, but please tip your performers and servers. For dinner reservations call the cafe at 533-9399.
