Join students, staff, alum, and faculty at the Goddard Haybarn theater from 7:15-7:45 this Thursday, March 6th in a peace vigil. The event will open with a short talk, then there will be a moment of silence held, and then an open mic time. Community members and allies will be given a chance to wear their Goddard pride (we'll have t-shirts, arm bands, buttons), wave their own signage and speak to what it is they love about this amazing institution. The future of academic freedom and progressive pedagogy hinges on the faculties current struggle to maintain their severance packages in the active contract negotiations. No severance means that faculty loose their voice at the academic decision-making table. No severance empowers top level administrators and the board to make academic decisions without weighing in with community members or those with experience in academic structure and progressive pedagogy. Help Goddard to remain at the forefront of social and environmental change through progressive, democratic education and organizational ethics. Come join us!
