Wednesday, January 23rd at 5:30 pm is the first of three mid-winter Soup Suppers at the Charlotte Congregational Church where we share soup, break bread, and hear from local Vermonters on a variety of topics. This year we are partnering with the Charlotte Library and our supper is inspired by the book, We Fed An Island, by Spanish-American chef, Jose Andres. After Hurricane Maria decimated Puerto Rico in September of 2017, Chef Andres spent three months mobilizing a massive food relief effort to feed the people of the island.
The 1/23 soup supper will feature Caribbean themed soups and our guest speaker will be Charlotter, Dr. Jean Andersson-Swayze, a physician who volunteered her services on the island in October of 2017 and has visited several disaster areas around the world.
Potluck requests of bread or a dessert are welcome. To register, please email charlotteucc.org to let us know you are joining us. This event is free and open to the community.
