Tim Lewis will present a program on the Mt. Washington Cog Railway on Sunday, January 27 at 6:30 pm at the Wells River Congregational Church vestry, located at 76 Main Street North in Wells River. Lewis, a professor of journalism at Northern VT University - Lyndon, spent his summers as a youth shadowing his father, Norman "Jitney" Lewis who was an engineer on the Cog. Later, the two completed an operators manual and memoir for the railway. Since then, Prof. Lewis has continued his search for stories of all the Mt. Washington RR employees. His lively, illustrated program will share some history of the Cog and some stories of the local folk who worked there. The program is hosted by Baldwin Memorial Library, 802-757-2693.
