Monday, January 21st is Martin Luther King Day. Join us as we celebrate Dr. King's message of respect and dignity for all people. We will be honoring our diverse community with music, film, snacks, stories, and crafts all day. Marita will host a multi-cultural preschool story time in the children's room at 10:30 and will show a movie at 1:00. All day parents and children can visit our craft table. Upstairs you can have a snack at our table of sweets from around the world while you enjoy world music. We are encouraging visitors to pick up a copy of the Vermont Humanities Council 2019 Vermont Reads book, March, by John Lewis, a graphic memoir about John Lewis's participation in the march for civil rights in Selma. During Black History month in February we will hold an all-ages discussion of the book.
Also next week on Thursday, the 24th, at 6:00pm the library will be hosting the OWLP program about Middlingo, a language program teaching Chinese to students in our community. There will be a presentation for adults upstairs and activities downstairs for children.
Bring the family to learn more about our amazing, diverse world at the library!
