The Hirschfield International Film Series continues this Saturday, January 12th and we are kicking off the new year with a special guest. Please join the Film and Media Culture Department in Dana Auditorium at 3pm or 8pm for a screening of Children of Men followed by a conversation with screenwriter Hawk Ostby.

Hawk Ostby is a Vermonter and an Academy Award nominated screenwriter of the critically acclaimed film Children of Men. His writing credits include blockbusters such as Iron Man and Cowboys & Aliens and a number of exciting new projects. Ostby is also the co-creator and writer of the science fiction television show The Expanse on the SyFy channel/Amazon Studios. He will be in attendance to answer questions and to discuss the 2007 film Children of Men, directed by Alfonso Cuarón and set in the dystopian (not so future) future of 2027.

This event is free and open to the public.
