Substance Awareness in Kids
CBMS PTO will be hosting a Parent Ed on Substance Awareness in Kids on Thursday, January, 31 from 6:30-8pm in at the Crossest Brook Library.
Learn more about the substances that are available to kids such as vaping, underage drinking, high potency marijuana, and prescription drugs-- including the health concerns and current trends. Discuss tips for effective family communication and how to secure substances in the home.
Presented by: Ann Gilbert who is a parent educator and director of Central Vermont New Directions Coalition, the substance abuse prevention organization based in Montpelier and serving Washington County.
Matt Whalen is the Prevention Consultant with the Vermont Department of Health based in the Barre District office and supporting prevention efforts throughout the region.
