The Summit is Vermont's premier annual event to learn about current issues, technologies and practices related to organics repurposing and recycling. The one day event includes eight workshops, vendors, exhibitors, and networking opportunities with organics diversion experts and regulators.

This year’s summit will include a two-part workshop on Community Composting. This decentralized approach to managing organics is gaining popularity across the country and already has broad support here in Vermont.

We are pleased to have Brenda Platt, co-director of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance as our keynote speaker.
For 27 years Brenda has promoted waste reduction, recycling and composting, particularly recycling-based jobs. She is the author of several groundbreaking reports including Stop Trashing the Climate, and the May 2013 released Pay Dirt detailing the economic and environmental benefits from producing and using compost.

If you are a compost facility manager, researcher, engineer, contractor, landscaper, community leader, regulator, recycling or solid waste professional, policy maker, community volunteer, or educator with an interest in organics diversion, water quality, and soil health issues, please join us for a day of networking and learning on April 3rd at Vermont Technical College, Randolph Center, Vermont.

The Composting Association of Vermont (CAV) is a nonprofit organization, promoting organics recycling that protects and benefits the environment.

The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, Department of Environmental Conservation (ANR/DEC) is dedicated to protecting and improving the health of Vermont’s people and ecosystems and promoting the sustainable use of Vermont’s natural resources.
