Another exciting meeting is in store this Thursday March 6 at 7PM at the Greek Orthodox Church.
Fresh off the election 48 hours earlier the meeting will include an election wrap up by Andy Montroll with commentary by our City Councilors, School Commissioners and School Commissioner elect. The results either way will have significant impact on the City, the Schools and all of us.
Moving on from the election we will have a discussion about the Cliff Street Sidewalk project. Long in the planning it could become a reality this summer. Guillermo Gomez, the Project Manager from DPW, will present the latest designs. In addition, and as vital to the community and the very existence of the Ward 6 NPA, we will be holding elections for new Steering Committee members. Finally as a harbinger (or plea) for spring, Libby Weiland will talk about the Community Teaching Garden and Burlington Area Community Gardening opportunities.
NEIL GROBERG AND MARY ESTHER TREAT ARE LEAVING THE STEERING COMMITTEE AS OF MAY 1 AND ANNIKA FREUDENBERGER WILL BE LEAVING SOON THEREAFTER. THE STEERING COMMITTEE IS REQUIRED TO HAVE THREE TO FIVE MEMBERS. OUR NPA MEETINGS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN INTERESTING, WELL ATTENDED AND COVER A WIDE ARRAY OF TOPICS - HIGHLIGHTED BY ENGAGING AND AMICABLE EXCHANGES FROM ALL SIDES OF AN ISSUE. WITHOUT A STEERING COMMITTEE THESE MEETINGS CANNOT TAKE PLACE. WHILE THERE IS A LITTLE WORK INVOLVED, COMMITTEE MEMBERS ALSO BENEFIT FROM BEING CIVIC LEADERS, LEARNING ABOUT IMPORTANT CITY ISSUES FIRST AND MEETING AND BECOMING FRIENDS WITH AN INCREDIBLE NUMBER OF PEOPLE. IF YOU WANT MORE INFORMATION BEFORE THE MEETING CONTACT ANY OF THE STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBERS.
