Heavy Machinery + Art + You = A Great Day

Dear Friends,

What better way to spend a summer than making your own prints with heavy machinery in the company of other artists? The Helen Day Art Center is organizing a steamroller printmaking workshop for Saturday, August 17th from 9:00-4:00 at the Art Center, novices and families welcome!

Here’s what you need to know:

The maximum paper size is 42" wide and we are prepared to use woodcut, metal shapes, plexi, and whatever you think might work. We will be using AKUA intaglio inks generously provided by Speedball, and a steamroller generously provided by Walker Construction of Stowe. The ink cleans up with water and soap, and should have a good long working time so there’s no rush to get the print under the roller.

Come on Saturday with your plates ready to go and expect to print 3 or more images, donate one to HDAC for fundraising purposes, and keep the rest yourself. Feel free to bring a lunch and enjoy the day as the steamroller rolls out artwork.

There’s only a $10 fee to cover the cost of materials and the rest is only limited by your own creativity.

We hope to see you on Saturday!

Yours,

Nathan Suter
