Please join us for the first Music and Spirit service of 2019 titled 'Sacred Emergency'. This service will be facilitated by Kim Marie Glynn with guest speaker Bill Vitek and sound healer Dorothy Stone.

" 'Emergence' is a term that has gotten a lot of attention among philosophers, theologians and scientists in the last few centuries. It is essentially a property of complex systems in which events happen that cannot be predicted by what came before them. Surprise, creativity, and evolution are built into the birth and growth of the universe, and occurs at every level and moment. It's not surprising, then, that the word 'emergency' has the connotation of fearful surprise and sudden uncertainty. But can we also see it in its aesthetic, creative and sacred dimensions? To live and love with emergency?" -Bill Vitek

Bill Vitek is a philosopher and educator. He is currently a Visiting Scholar at Middlebury College and Director of The New Perennials Project, a multi-year collaboration with The Land Institute, NoVo Foundation and the Rockefeller Family Fund. He is a working jazz pianist who will share his musical talent as well.

Dorothy Stone has been deeply immersed in the study and practice of Therapeutic Sound for over a decade. She has had a private practice , Stone Bodywork, in the area for years and is trained in a number of different treatment modalities, most recently training in Restorative Yoga. With her partner, Zacciah Blackburn, they host programs and retreats in the US and Europe centered around Sound Healing, Earth Energy and Consciousness studies.

All are welcome, we hope you join us!
