Long winter nights... what better way to spend them then to listening to a native Vermont humorist spin his yarns? Come to the Waterbury Library, Wednesday evening, January 9th at 7 O'Clock to hear 6th generation Vermonter, woodsman, author and storyteller Bill Torrey share "Stories Told Behind the Barn." You are in for an entertaining evening, as Bill shares true stories of his life growing up during the '60's and his forty-year career working in the hills of Vermont.
Bill has won four Moth Story Slams in Burlington, three Extempo Competitions in Central Vermont, and New York's North Country Public Radio's Black Fly Story Slam where he received the coveted Golden Fly Swatter. His first book, "The Ta Ta Weenie Club", was released in the fall of 2016. His second book, Working Out of It, will be coming out in 2019.
You can get a taste of Bill's humor by listening to WDEV, Tuesday morning, January 8th at 8:45 am, when he will be interviewed by Dana Jewell on the Morning News Service with Dana and Jon.
Bill loves telling his stories and sharing them with others. To take a gander at Bill and listen to more stories go to http://www.billtorreyvt.com/
