Join the Greater Burlington Women's Forum, in conjunction with GunSense Vermont and Steps to End Domestic Violence, for a panel discussion and documentary film screening about women working to prevent gun-related domestic violence at the Main St. Landing Film House, 60 Lake St., Burlington.

Five Awake is by Donna Dees, founder of the Million Mom March in 2000 and winner of Sarah Brady Visionary Award. It chronicles the journey of five Louisiana women who sought to change their state for the better by pushing through a historic legislative package to protect the victims of domestic violence and save lives. This powerful film has won numerous awards, including "Best Louisiana Feature" at the New Orleans Film Fest 2016, "Best Documentary Short" at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival 2016, and "Best Documentary" at the Women's International Film Fest 2018.

Speaker panel features Donna Dees, the documentary film-maker; Clai Lasher-Sommers, Executive Director of GunSense Vermont; and Kelly Dougherty, Executive Director of Steps to End Domestic Violence, Vermont.
