Thu, 03/06/2014 - 10:30am to 12:00pm, Community Center Media Room, Goddard College, 123 Pitkin Rd., Plainfield, VT

What does it take to transform a homestead into a successful farm business? How can you get started farming with limited assets but a passion for production?

Jessie Schmidt, UVM Extension New Farmer Project Coordinator, will present an introduction to the resources and services available to beginning farmers, and share tips for transforming agricultural aspirations into business plans and farm enterprises. We'll discuss developing production skills, accessing capital, finding affordable farmland, and reaching markets. Bring your experiences and questions.

This event is free and open to the public as presented by Goddard's Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability program. Questions? Contact Catherine Lowther at catherine.lowther@goddard.edu.
