Please join local organizers on Tuesday January 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Ilsley Library's community room to discuss the effort to ban single use plastic bags at the point of check-out in Middlebury. Since last June, volunteers have been collecting signatures on an advisory petition to the Select Board to ban these bags. We anticipate that this issue will be on the Town Meeting agenda. Following a short presentation and brief comments by 3 community members, the remainder of the meeting will be devoted to Q and A and discussion. The petition to the Select Board will be available to sign that evening. Anyone from any town is welcome since we all shop in Middlebury.
