Jan 5, 2019, 12 to 3 PM

Central Vermont Showing Up for Racial Justice is a community organized and led group, working to bring racial justice into our region. We all have a part to play in ending racism and white supremacy.

Three upcoming opportunities to engage in this work.:
1. Wednesday1/9/19,6-8pm. Interested in gaining skills to interrupt racism when you witness it? The practice sessions we have been hosting have been very well attended, so we will be offering monthly sessions into the new year. In these gatherings, we share a few tools and then spend the session practicing responding to situations that deserve speaking up to: family members remarks, racial stereotypes presented by coworkers, bias in public, incidents of explicit hate speech, and more. The next practice session is Wednesday, 1/9, from 6-8 pm, at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier.

2. Saturday1/12/19,10-3 Interested in having conversations about ending racism in your communities? On 1/12/19, from 10-3 pm, at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier, we will host a training for those who would like to to facilitate or host Living Room Conversations in their home or in a community setting.
