Grow Your Own is starting up its workshop series for 2019 and will offer a fermentation workshop with Nancy Van Winkle in Hardwick on January 12. Each participant will make sauerkraut and take a jar home. Other types of fermentation will also be discussed including kombucha. Pieces of scoby used to make kombucha will be raffled off at the workshop. This workshop is free but a reservation is required in order to make sure there are enough supplies. To save a spot please call (802) 472-5940 Laura Wilkinson at the Hardwick Area Food Pantry (HAFP) by January 9. Children are welcome and snacks are provided. On-site child care and/or transportation can be provided if requested by January 9. The workshop will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE) at 140 Junction Road in Hardwick. Grow Your Own is a project of the HAFP, CAE, and NEK Kids on the Move (Wonder Arts).
