ANNOUNCEMENT

I just came back from hearing a completely eye-opening and powerful talk by Marshfield native Elsa Engstrom on the humanitarian crisis occurring right now along the Arizona/Mexico border. Elsa works with a humanitarian and advocacy group called No More Deaths, delivering food and water to migrants, and gathering and identifying remains of the thousands who are dying in the harsh desert conditions of the Sonoran Desert. She will be giving this talk again on Wednesday, December 26, from 5:30-6:30 p.m., at the Plainfield Friends Meetinghouse. I urge everyone to attend. It will change your whole attitude towards our southern border, to hear first-hand about the horrific humanitarian crisis that is being perpetuated in our name, the draconian policies of the Trump administration, and the brave work Elsa and others are doing to alleviate the suffering down there.

In addition, there is an opportunity to make a telephone call in support of nine of the No More Death workers who have been arrested. The organization is hoping for a multitude of calls this week. For more information, go to bit.ly/neveracrime.
