Christmas Bird Count

Hi All, I am posting this note for Zac Cota of the North Branch Nature Center in Montpelier. Happy Holidays, Audrey

For 119 years now, the National Audubon Society has conducted an annual census of winter birds. The Christmas Bird Count is now one of the longest running citizen science projects in the world. Volunteering for the CBC provides you an opportunity to learn more about the birds in your backyard, unplug from devices and connect with nature, and to contribute to our understanding of bird populations.

This year the Hunger Mountain CBC will take place next Wednesday, December 26th. There are two ways you can join: by counting birds at your feeder as a feederwatcher, or on a team tallying birds around your community. The Hunger Mountain CBC includes parts of Bolton, Duxbury, Middlesex, Moretown, Stowe, Waterbury, and Worcester, and we are still looking for more participants.

If you would like to sign up, or want to learn more, visit northbranchnaturecenter.org/christmas-bird-count/ or email zac@northbranchnaturecenter.org.
