Please come to Contois Auditorium to support the CCTA bus drivers at a rally on Thursday evening, March 6 at 7:30 PM. In response to management's bullying and refusal to negotiate fairly on crucial points, the drivers voted 53-4 on February 9 to reject the CCTA's contract offer. A strike date is now set for March 10.

Driver/passenger safety is a key issue, with split shifts being pushed to 13 1/2 hours. Also full-time drivers are being squeezed out by management's insistence on hiring part-timers. The drivers have also experienced intimidation, threats and failure to respond to reasonable requests for sick time.

Our public transportation system needs experienced drivers who are treated with respect by the CCTA management. Come to City Hall on Thursday to hear drivers and supporters speak out.
