ABOUT THE BAND
The Grift is an independent band from Burlington, VT. Their sound defies easy categorization, blending booty-shaking grooves and improvisation with radio-friendly hooks, witty lyrics, and tight vocal harmonies. Their live shows are energetic and original, with band members swapping instruments and occasionally playing two at a time. With a deep catalogue of original music that blends roots-rock and pop and jam, The Grift throws their diverse array of musical influences into the oven and cooks up tasty sonic treats.

The core of the Grift— guitarist/vocalist Clint Bierman, bassist/vocalist Peter Day, drummer/bassist/vocalist Jeff Vallone, and Andrew Moroz on keys —have been playing together on the central Vermont music scene and beyond for almost 20 years. The Grift has serious musical and songwriting chops. Peter Day won a recent Vermont-wide songwriter contest, and Clint Bierman co-wrote "I'm On My Way" for the Shrek 2 soundtrack. Jeff Vallone (classically trained, no less) has at least one symphony under his belt. And Andrew Moroz has toured and recorded with Trey Anastasio, Phish, Anais Mitchell, and Jennifer Hartswick, and has shared the stage with Carlos Santana and Dave Matthews.
