Tentative Astronomy at VTC

Past event
Dec 15, 2018, 9 to 11 PM

Depending on the weather, the VTC Astronomy Club may be venturing out late on Saturday night to do some astronomy. This weekend, the brightest comet of the year (46p/Wirtanen) will peak in brightness. It may be visible to the unaided eye in dark environments, but where we will be observing from, we will need good optics. Thankfully, that's what we have!

Note on weather: The weather is not ideal, but we may have an opportunity to observe late on Saturday night. That's why the time is so odd. That window of opportunity may vanish, though. You all know how Vermont is.

Location will likely be on VTC campus, but this is not yet fixed. Updates to come later. In addition, we now have a Facebook page! Search for us- the VTC Astronomy Club. Updates will be posted there.

In short,
Join the VTC Astronomy Club to see a comet!
