Meeting on the Future of Burlington Telecom

Past event
Dec 19, 2018, 6 PM

Come hear the latest news on our citizen intervention* to stop the giveaway of our telecom to an out-of-state company (and eventually, probably to Comcast).

With the PUC case completed, we await its decision. Our attorney, Jim Dumont made a clear and powerful case, challenging the errors and holes in the City's case. He showed not only that the law is clear, but that the PUC is uniquely instructed by the law to protect taxpayers and reject this deal. And, we now know that the city has shifted its position and does not believe that taxpayers are rightfully owed any money.

But winning this case is only the first step.

As a community, we all need to discuss what happens next. Come to this meeting to get your questions answered and share your ideas for the future of Burlington Telecom.
