Wildlife Talk: Recognizing Tracks & Signs Dec. 12

Past event
Dec 12, 2018, 7 to 8:30 PM

Join SB Mammal Tracking Project & Master Naturalist Coordinator Sophie Mazowita for an intro to wildlife tracking talk at SB City Hall this Wednesday.

Ever wondered what wild creatures are moving through our backyards and natural areas? This hour-long presentation will introduce you to the large mammals of our city and how to read the tracks and sign they leave behind. Featuring photos and video footage, you'll learn about the secretive lives of our wild residents and how to tell apart gray fox, red fox, coyote, otter, fisher, moose, deer, beaver, mink, porcupine and black bear. You'll also learn how you can contribute sightings to the Burlington Mammal Tracking Project, which seeks to identify wildlife corridors and road crossings throughout our region.

Recommended for ages 12+. $5-$10 suggested donation to the Burlington Tracking Project.

This event is taking place in the Green Mountain Room, on the main floor of City Hall, 575 Dorset Street.
