With the theme of "Sing Peace," the Pumpkin Hill Singers perform their annual holiday concert on Thursday, December 13 at the Danville Congregational Church and on Saturday, December 15, at the United Community Church in St. Johnsbury. The popular local ensemble offers their signature eclectic mix of sacred and secular songs for Hanukkah and Christmas and winter. Both concerts are at 7 pm.

The Danville concert is part of the town's annual Holiday on the Green. The festivities begin at 5 pm with open houses at the Pope Memorial Library, Reid and Balivet Law Office, the Danville Historical Society, and several other businesses to enjoy food and good cheer.

Several songs in the concert are by members of the ensemble. Mary McLeod's new song, "Pray Peace," is sung by the women. Joanne Reed wrote the lyrics to "Rejoice This Christmas," which were set to music by Ruth Hanson and are newly arranged by director Susan Terry. Terry and husband Steve Parker collaborated on "December Aire" and "Winter's Coming."

David Hare will provide percussion accompaniment on select works, including "Jamaican Noel" and the men's rendition of "Feliz Navidad."
Audiences will be invited to close the concerts singing the round "Dona Nobis Pacem" (Give Us Peace). Then, in keeping with a long-standing Pumpkin Hill holiday tradition, joining in on the chorus of "Julian of Norwich" with the hopeful refrain: "Let the winter come and go. All will be well again, I know."
