Hello, Stowe!
When you attend your local arts events, you nurture your community, invest in storytellers from around the world, create jobs, support local business and make your town an artistic destination!
Scout Film Festival is right around the corner - January 4-6 at Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center and Topnotch Resort!
This year we have two full days of screenings with a panel on both Friday and Saturday. We will celebrate (as usual) with a red carpet (dress it up) and fabulous awards ceremony on Saturday night which will be live streamed for our international audience who can't be with us in person!
In this, our 3rd year, we received 2,164 short film submissions from 105 countries all written, produced and/or directed by filmmakers aged 18 and under or 19 to 24! We recently announced a new partnership with Jurassic World's Writer and Director, Colin Trevorrow. You can see the Deadline Hollwood exclusive story here: https://deadline.com/2018/10/colin-trevorrow-sponsors-two-scout-film-fest-emerging-filmmaker[...]30/
There are four immediate ways for you and/or your friends, family, neighbors, students to participate in our third annual international film festival!
1. ATTEND THE FESTIVAL. 2. Become a Housing Host. 3. Volunteer. 4. Donate or Become a Sponsor ANY Time
1. ATTEND SCOUT FILM FESTIVAL January 4-6, 2019! TICKETS ARE ON SALE through our amazing venue - third year in a row - Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center. Come to Scout January 4-6 to enjoy our Opening Night Party hosted by Topnotch; screenings, panels/workshops, a Red Carpet Awards Ceremony at Spruce Peak and this impressive collection of emerging talent from around the world at an event founded in Stowe, VT. 2. BECOME A HOUSING HOST: We already have several generous community members on our housing host list (THANK YOU!) and seek a few more home owners/renters with extra space to offer one or more filmmaker(s) (and family), or excited out-of-town volunteers deterred by the cost of making the trip to Stowe. We understand January is a busy time of year for renters, if you happen to have a break in your schedule or the means to support hardworking young people, we are ever grateful.
3. VOLUNTEER: Every volunteer will receive a free staff shirt and will be welcome to enjoy screenings, breakout sessions, etc that do not take place DURING your shift. Middle and High school students will receive community service credit for all time spent helping us leading up to and during the festival. If you are interested in participating in an international event held locally, please follow this link http://signup.com/go/RNVUskU or email me and I will share details.
4. DONATE OR BECOME A SPONSOR: As a nonprofit 501(c)3 Scout is reliant on the support of our generous donors. If you would like to become a corporate or individual sponsor or make a donation, please contact me directly or visit www.scoutfilmfestival.org/donate.
