On Saturday, December 8, a portion of the proceeds from every book sold at Barnes and Noble on Dorset Street will benefit the Imagination Library Program, which provides free books monthly from birth through age 5 for any Burlington child who signs up... And there's no cost to you!
Unlike past book sales I've helped with, you'll have to shop in the store (online sales no longer count), and you have to use one of the coupons that I or other members of the Burlington Sunrise Rotary Club will be handing. All merchandise-- including magazines, gifts, music, and movies-- in the store (even cafe purchases) qualifies. There's also a special this weekend on educational materials, at 25% off... these items will also contribute to our cause. The greater the total sales that day, the larger the cut that will go to the Imagination Library program.
The Imagination Library program (https://imaginationlibrary.com/) was founded by Dolly Parton to benefit kids in her hometown, but has spread throughout the US and abroad. Locally, the program is sponsored by the Burlington Sunrise Rotary Club, and we will have a table set up in the store on the 8th to answer any questions and hand out cards with the benefit code.
Some of the kids who benefit from this program would not have books at home otherwise, so save your book list and visit us this Saturday, 12/8, at Barnes and Noble on Dorset Street. Thank you!
